Changes

This PR updates the documentation to reflect the new ability to manage alerts directly from dashboard insight cards, as introduced in PostHog/posthog#53208.

Updated files

1. contents/docs/alerts/index.mdx

  • Updated step 2 in "How to create an alert" to present two options for accessing alerts:
    • From the insight page via the Actions sidebar
    • From a dashboard via the menu on insight cards

2. contents/docs/product-analytics/dashboards.mdx

  • Added Alerts to the "Insight card options" section, documenting the new menu item that opens the alerts modal directly from the dashboard

Why

Previously, users had to navigate to an insight page and use the Actions sidebar to manage alerts. With PR #53208, users can now access alerts directly from any dashboard insight card using the three-dot menu – a significant UX improvement when monitoring multiple insights.
